BFI (Breakfast for Indians) Bin
Oct. 24, 2004
Chowing down,
leftovers from this evening’s
dinner rush.
Nothing to wash down,
the crust of those,
who can eat out,
on a Friday night.
It makes no difference,
to me,
what goes into my stomach.
On warm days,
it’s hard to separate,
grease and salad,
from each other.
Cold days,
it’s hard to chew on frozen pizza,
and a joke,
to eat chilli.
But, down at the Mission House,
I get closer to God,
with each passing meal.
even though,
I got an Indian name.
'Wahbung' andishinaagas, muhwa dodem!
The next time,
you see me digging,
for food in an ally.
Remember,
it’s Breakfast For Indians,
especially,
if it’s a BFI bin.

Hey superstar, congrats on your gig with Prairie Fire. When is your name gonna be up in lights - er, on the page?
It's not in stone, but there is a willingness to work on the story to resubmit. Not quite at the finish line, but a matter of improving the story.
Ooooh, Prairie Fire! Mac's hittin' the big time!
